The risks and benefits of Primary Packaging
Primary packaging is the packaging that immediately encloses the ingredients/food products. For example a can of milk, a bottle of drinking water in containers, and wrap the bread. Types of primary packaging which is the most widely used plastic.

There is a plastic that is rigid and there are flexible. The plastic wrapping is a flexible plastic packaging kemasan tahu tempe . Usually are limp, easily retractable, high range power without a tear, and easily dikelim. Plastic for wrapping a public sale disupermarket is made of plastic poly ethylene (PE) type of LDPE (Low Density PE). General properties of the PE is transparent, oily, easily shaped, buckled, easily retractable, high range power without RIP, easy dikelim hot, wet, acid-resistant, alcohol and detergents as well as water vapour and water proofed.
Some types of plastic are there in the market are:

a) Poly Ethylene (PE)
Suitable for packing food that is flavorful, to be stored frozen, but not suitable for fatty products.
b) Poly Ethylene Tereptalat (PET)
Can be used for packaging dried fruit, candy, juice, mineral water, carbonated soft drinks, cooking oil, sauces, jellies, jams.
c) Polypropylene (PP)
High temperature resistant so it can be used for sterilizing food or hot food, the acid-resistant so it can be used for juice and oil resistant so it can be used for processed oil products.
d) Styrofoam
Styrofoam is the popular name of plastic type polistiren (PS). General properties of PS is low melting point, resistant to acids, bases, a permeability of steam and gas is very high. PS is used to package food fresh (uncooked) such as fruit and vegetables. Because of PS monometer allegedly also are carcinogenic, then this packaging should not be used to package foods or hot drinks as it can cause the onset of the migration component into the food/drinks are packed.

The advantages of the use of the packaging of paper, namely the price is cheap and easy to obtain. Weaknesses of paper for packing food is its water-sensitive and easily affected by the humidity of the environment. This causes the food packed with paper will be very prone to reduction. Modification of manufacturing process and additive used is done to obtain the paper with special properties. Oil-resistant paper for example has a surface like glass and transparent, has high durability against fat, oil, grease, not resistant to water even though its surface is coated with waterproof materials such as shellac and wax.

Parchment paper has a good fat, endurance had a good wet strength., odorless/tasteless, does not provide a good barrier against gas, unless it is coated with certain materials and can be used to package food ingredients such as butter, margarine,
